How to add a signature or image to a PDF
Updated November 2, 2026
You can add a picture to any page of a PDF: a logo, a stamp or a scan of your signature. You can also draw on the page by hand.
Add an image to your PDF
Open the PDF editor and drop your document in the box.
- Choose the "Image" tool and pick a picture from your device.
- Drag it into place and resize it using its corners.
- Click "Download" to save the new PDF.
Two ways to add your signature
The first is to sign a white sheet of paper, take a photo in good light and add it with the Image tool. The second is to use the "Freehand" tool and draw your signature with a mouse, a trackpad or a finger.
Is this a legally valid signature?
A picture of a signature is not a certified electronic signature, and it can't prove who signed or when. Requirements depend on the document and on where you live. For a contract or an official document, ask the other party or a legal adviser what they accept.
Protect your signature image
Keep your signature file somewhere private, and only send the finished PDF. Anyone who gets a clear copy of your signature could reuse it.
